ACCOLADES

Our experience with Goodwin Classic Homes was first-rate in every way. Having renovated other homes, the GCH team is in a class of their own. Phil Goodwin combines an engineer’s method and precision with an artist’s keen eye and a deep appreciation of historic architecture. Our site foreman, Matt, ensured the site was always safe and orderly. While we met with Phil regularly, Matt kept us apprised of the day-to-day and minimized the impact of the project on our family. Throughout the project there was consistent focus on creation of a high-quality final product, financial stewardship, timeliness, and communication. We could not be more pleased with the team and the outcome and look forward to partnering again with Goodwin Classic Homes.

We have had the distinct pleasure of working with Phil Goodwin and Goodwin Classic homes on numerous projects spanning nearly a decade.  Phil is the consummate professional.  His inches-thick notebooks detailing every step, including sequence, timing and labor, every cost, every product and materials are legendary.  And, that’s just what he puts together to bid a job!  The multiple notebooks he uses to manage actual projects are six to eight inches thick.  His work always comes in on time and in budget; the only exceptions are when Phil believes that the quality of the outcome would be compromised.  We never have been ‘surprised’ or disappointed because Phil is such an effective communicator.  This shows in his relationships with architects, designers and subcontractors, as well.  We would highly recommend Phil Goodwin and Goodwin Classic Homes to anyone looking for the highest quality workmanship at a sensible price, and the smoothest building process imaginable.  Above all else, Phil is a really nice guy.

My wife and I had the opportunity to work with Phil Goodwin during the renovation of a 20yrs old townhouse we purchased. Phil’s background as an engineer was evident throughout the renovation process, as demonstrated with his hands-on approach, attention to detail, maintaining timelines and staying within budget. The tradesmen he used also shared his passion for doing a quality job and taking pride in their work. John & Judy Mahaffey

Over the last five years, my husband and I have had the pleasure of working with Phil Goodwin and his company, Goodwin Classic Homes, on two major remodeling projects on our 25 year old home in Morrocroft. Prior to that time, we had built and remodeled several homes and like many, our experiences with other builders had been filled with highs and lows. Each project on which we have worked with GCH has been not only a joy from beginning to completion, but unparalleled in excellence and craftmanship.

Our first project with GCH was a master suite renovation necessitated by an emergency flood resulting from a frozen pipe that destroyed our entire master bathroom, closets and bathrooms. Several years later, we called upon Phil to remodel our existing kitchen. Successful projects like ours begin with a strong collaboration between the client, architect, interior designer and contractor and ours were no exception. From start to finish, Phil made the whole process so easy for us! He is that rare contractor who is fluent in all the languages of each of the parties involved. He has a highly evolved aesthetic sensibility and yet is very analytical when it comes to pricing, coordination and timing. His attention to detail is without peer; each proposal was meticulous and refreshing in transparency as was the case in his billing. Communication between us was always easy, immediate and efficient. Each of these projects required the hiring of practically every kind of subcontractor and the sourcing of myriad materials and fabricators. Without exception, he brought the most competent and talented of tradesmen to our projects and the results always exceeded my considerable expectations.

Phil’s “secret weapon” is his extraordinary project manager, Matt…..he is simply the best! He is as superb at his job as anyone with whom we have ever worked…experienced, organized, smart, tenacious, neat to a fault and a terrific communicator with both his subs and the client. I hated to see him go! That being said, every project has a “punch list” of items that necessitate follow up in the weeks and months following completion and Matt and Phil have always been very faithful in getting those things done. I can only hope that we have a chance to work together again.

We had the good fortune of meeting Phil Goodwin of Goodwin Classic Homes (GCH) many years ago after Phil was recommended to us by a trusted friend in the home construction business. Before hiring GCH, Phil took the time to walk my wife and me through two projects that his company was currently working on so that we could see the quality of their work. Needless to say, we were very impressed with what we saw and subsequently hired GCH to complete a major renovation of our home. We could not have been happier with the process from start to finish and are pleased to recommend Phil and GCH to any homeowner looking for a builder whose primary goal is customer satisfaction. What was particularly notable to us was the level of detail in the work as well as Phil’s personal knowledge of the construction trades, including which subcontractors to use, which materials were available and suitable for the job, the cost considerations involved in the project and the expertise of the GCH job foreman. We still marvel at the finished product and very much enjoy using our new space. Prospective customers should also know that Phil’s follow up has been superb. He and his company definitely stand behind their work and have been very proactive in following up after construction was complete. GCH is the only builder we would consider for future work.
